Ipswich won vs Newburyport report from coach Kerri O’Connor

25-16, 25-15, 25-13
We saw much improvement tonight on energy and court awareness.  We worked together as a team and played for one another which is always our goal.  Serving was strong with 20 aces overall and consistent service runs by Haley O’Connor, Ava Warren, Lauren Kennedy, Mikayla Keorber and Meghan O’Connor.  Talia Kaplanian played an aggressive defense in the back row and hitters all worked well together to play strong at the net.

Cross Country

Newburyport Boys Cross Country defeated Ipswich Boys Cross Country 21 to 40

Coach’s Comments: Steve Bartholomew, Ipswich Girls XC Coach

While losing is never great I feel that the effort we put up today at Newburyport is something to build off of. Outside of a few people that had off days, 14 of the 17 people we had running today had their best race of the year. Nadja actually ran a better pace today than she did at the divisional meet last year. Also Rayna beat her time at Maudslay last year by over 3 minutes. This was the trend for just about everybody on the roster so even though losing in never ideal, I think we can walk away from this meet knowing we gave all we could at this point in the season.
