PEABODY – Swampscott running back Xaviah Bascon ran for 171 yards on 19 carries and scored the winning touchdown with 4:22 left in the game to boost the visiting Big Blue (5-0) to a 28-21 win over the Peabody Tanners (1-4). With the scored tied at 21 in the 4th quarter, Swampscott put together an 8 play, 78 yard drive with Bascon running for 50 on 5 carries.
Peabody quarterback Shea Lynch (13/31 for 133 yards) had touchdown passes to Mike Perry, Colin Ridley, and Dan Barrett.
Swampscott quarterback Cam O’Brien (8/15 for 76) tossed 1 TD pass (to Elijah Burns, who also ran for a TD) and ran for a 37-yard score on a QB option keeper.
Big Blue outgained the Tanners overall, 239 to 234.
