LYNN / SALEM – Investigations are ongoing in two separate shooting incidents that occurred in Lynn, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lynn Police Chief Christopher Reddy announced.

Over the holiday weekend, the City of Lynn has unfortunately seen an increase in gun related violence.  Authorities are working closely with my office to bring those responsible to justice.

On December 26, 2023, at approximately 8:32 p.m., Lynn PD received a 911 call for three victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the Pizza Hut located at 39 State Street. The victims were transported to MGH with various injuries and at this time appear to be in stable condition.

On December 27, 2023, at approximately 2221 hours Lynn PD received several E-911 calls of shots fired near 10 Camden Street.  Responding cruisers located 2 males who had received gunshot wounds.  Each were transported to North Shore Medical Center for further care.  The first victim, a 16-year-old juvenile, was pronounced deceased in the ER.  The second victim, a 19-year-old male also succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Further information will be provided as the case evolves.

Tucker stated “Effects of gun violence are devastating especially when young people are involved and losing their lives. Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to my office, the Lynn Police, and Lynn officials are committed to exhausting every possible resource in an effort to interrupt this pattern of senseless violence.”

Chief Reddy added “The Lynn Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police have committed significant resources to these investigations and will continue to do so until the offenders are held accountable.  Based on our investigation to this point, we believe that these are targeted attacks, and we ask for the public’s help.  If you have any information, please contact investigators at 781-477-3190.”
