MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The Endicott women’s lacrosse team held on for a 12-10 victory to down host Salve Regina Tuesday night at Gaudet Field in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) bout.

Endicott made it 1-0 early as freshman attack Jackie Healy (Northborough, Mass.) found the back of the net on a feed from senior attack Isabelle Sipperly (Greenwich, N.Y.) just a few minutes into the game.

The Seahawks knotted the score at 1-1 on junior attack Kaitlin Gillespie’s (Haddam, Conn.) strike at the 23:32 mark, before the Gulls managed to rattle off four in a row to take a 5-1 lead with 17:16 remaining in the first half.

Salve Regina got two back on another goal by Gillespie (15:24) and a deposit from sophomore midfielder Katie Kline (Brookfield, Conn.) to pull to within two, down 5-3 with 8:24 on the clock.

The Gulls took a 7-3 lead into the break as Healy and freshman midfielder Jackie Neilsen (Agawam, Mass.) each potted a pair of goals and Sipperly registered three points in the first half (one goal, two assists).

Sophomore attack Erin McCarthy (Old Lyme, Conn.) opened the second half with a free-position goal to make it 8-3 in favor of the Gulls for the largest lead of the game.
