From Generals Coach Nancy Waddell:
Senior captain Erin O’Shea opened the scoring for the Generals in the eleventh minute with a blast inside the penalty box.  She scored again in the 36th minute on a penalty kick after she had been taken down by an Amesbury defender in the box.  Amesbury got on the board with just a few ticks on the clock before halftime on a beautiful shot from outside the box to the upper far corner of the net.  A few minutes into the second half, Amesbury tied it up at 2-2 and that’s how the game ended.  Hamilton-Wenham dealt with injuries to two goalkeepers, sophomore Addie Condon and senior captain Karen Caufield.  The girls combined for 9 saves, including one spectacular save each.  Sophomore defenders Maddy Rivers and Belle Dolan thwarted many attempted attacks by Amesbury.
The Generals (0-5-2) play at home against North Reading on Thursday, still looking for that elusive first win.
