Endicott Men’s Basketball Wins at Salve Regina
NEWPORT, R.I. – The Endicott men’s basketball team used a 32-6 run over the span of 12:54 in the first half of action to run away with an eventual 83-70 conference victory against Salve Regina University on Tuesday night at the Rodgers Recreation Center.
Newly minted Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) spearheaded the offensive spurt for the Gulls with 10 points, while Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) compiled eight points. Vinny Clifford (Danvers, Mass.) also added five points during the run. The trio finished with 17 points, eight points, and 10 points, respectively, in the contest.
Meanwhile, Nick Thibeault (Gorham, Maine) paced the Gulls with a team-high 18 points (7-9 FG, 4-7 FT).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
Endicott is 22-14 all-time against Salve Regina (dating back to 12/13/1994).
The Gulls have won the last four contests, and have outscored the Seahawks 354-244 total in those meetings.
Joel Villa (Bronx, N.Y.) contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Endicott shot 50.0-percent (28-for-56) in the win. It marks the fourth time this season the Gulls have shot 50.0-percent or better in a contest (4-0 overall).
FOR THE FOES
Rodney Morton (Malden, Mass.) scored a game-high 26 points (11-28 FG, 1-11 3PT, 3-5 FT).
Kevin Kelly (Valhalla, N.Y.) chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Isaiah Bowman (Roxbury, Mass.) and Thor Brochu (North Kingstown, R.I.) had nine points each.

Endicott Women’s Basketball Loses at Salve Regina
NEWPORT, R.I. – The Endicott women’s basketball team was defeated, 64-56, by Salve Regina on Tuesday evening.
The Gulls took an early 6-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game, but the Seahawks were able to close the gap and eventually take a 19-17 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Salve Regina built its lead throughout the second quarter and headed into halftime up 39-30.
Endicott continued to battle during the third and fourth quarters and came within four points with just over one minute remaining to be played in regulation. The Seahawks were able to hold on to secure the 64-56 win though.
Hannah Kiernan (Wenham, Mass.) led the Gulls offensively with 21 points. Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) and Catie Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.) each recorded a team-high seven rebounds.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
Two other Endicott student-athletes finished with double-digit points: Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) had 14 points, while Pratt was close behind with 10.
Kiernan also led the team in steals with four throughout the contest.
The Gulls held a slight 29-28 rebound advantage.
FOR THE FOES
Torie Scorpio (Cranston, R.I.) recorded 23 points to lead the Seahawks.
Ally Esielionis (Shirley, Mass.), Mary Eden (South Kisgtown, R.I), and Kerri Beland (Attleboro, Mass.) each pulled down four rebounds for Salve Regina.
Esielionis also had a team-high three blocks.
