Gloucester – DPW Business Office Will Be Closed Tues., 9/26/23
On Tuesday, September 26, Public Works will be attending staff training and development which means our offices will be closed. Consequently, Public Works Business Office personnel will be unavailable for your sticker sales, phone conversations, and email queries. We apologize for any disruption this may cause however, we believe that training our staff is a fundamental part of their development and helps to ensure that we continue to enhance the level of service you our residents receive.
City of Beverly – The Hall-Whitaker is scheduled to open for marine traffic on Wednesday at 10 AM and Thursday at 9:30 AM. Pedestrian and bike/scooter traffic should seek alternate routes at those times.

Report from New Hampshire State Police – On September 26, 2023, at approximately 4:45 a.m., New Hampshire State Police Troop D troopers responded to a commercial motor vehicle crash on Interstate 93 south in the city of Concord. After an initial investigation, Trooper Brandon Rivard determined that the box truck was traveling in the right-hand lane in the area of exit 17E when the driver lost control of the truck and veered off the roadway to the left. The truck overturned on its side, damaging the guardrail and came to rest partially blocking the left lane. The driver, Jesus Cepeda-Pizarro, Age: 35, Lawrence, MA was evaluated at the scene by Penacook Rescue Squad for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital. The interstate was reduced to one lane for approximately 2 hours until the truck was safely removed from the roadway. The driver was cited for Operating after Suspension and Negligent Driving.

St. John’s Prep Athletics – Big win for the SJP Varsity Golf team as they competed in the 7th Annual Cape Cod National GGC High School Invitational yesterday!! Huge accomplishment as they battled the rain and winds and a great team win- Go Eagles!
