WINTHROP — Town Manager Anthony Marino and Fire Chief Scott Wiley warn residents of a high-wind warning issued by the National Weather Service that will last through Monday. In addition, there is a storm warning for waters off the Massachusetts coast.
The National Weather Service has issued a high-wind warning for most of Massachusetts, including Winthrop, for Monday. Peak wind gusts of 55 to 65 mph are expected. Sustained westerly winds of 15 to 30 mph are forecast by the weather service.
Strong gusts will continue overnight, but will slightly diminish.
Town Manager Marino and Chief Wiley caution residents, especially boaters, to pay heed to the high winds. The weather service says there will be hazardous wind and sea conditions on the water.
