Gloucester –  Police Department Reminds Community of Traffic Activity Ahead of St. Peter’s Fiesta

Chief Edward Conley and the Gloucester Police Department would like to remind the community to expect increased traffic activity during the annual St. Peter’s Fiesta celebrations.

The Fiesta will take place from Wednesday, June 26 to Sunday, June 30. This event has been hosted around St. Peter’s Feast Day (June 29) since 1927. In those 97 years, the parade has become a popular event, drawing in visitors from all around the country.

Residents should expect an increase in traffic congestion on or around Rogers Street, Main Street, and Washington Street during the Fiesta dates. Gloucester Fire, Gloucester Harbormaster, and other state emergency agencies will be present during the celebrations.

The following events are historically popular and are expected to generate foot and vehicle traffic:

  • Fiesta 5K Road Race: Thursday, June 27, 6-7 p.m.
  • St. Peter’s Fiesta Greasy Pole Contest and Seine Boat Races: June 28-30, 4:45 p.m.
  • Mass of St. Peter: Sunday, June 30, 10 a.m.

See the full schedule of events here.

Great day 1 of youth camp. Thanks to our nhs volunteers. Everett Kenney shared some words: he spoke about coming up to nhs under the lights just a few years ago as a young kid and the feeling you get then and as a player. Also about sticking with it and putting in the work!
