MIAA Power Rankings

Girls Lacrosse 

Ipswich 12, Peabody 6. The Tigers were led offensively by Lyla Greenleaf (6 goals, 1 assist), Estelle Gromko (2 goals, 2 assists), Lucy Winthrop (2 goals, 5 draws), Halle Greenleaf (1 goal, 1 assist, 4 draw controls) and Allie Wile (1 goal, 1 assist). The Tigers were led defensively by Emma Paquette in goal making 8 saves and 2 ground ball. The defense as a whole was fantastic led by Ella Stein, Lucy Donahue, Avery Brown, Jade Wilcox, Morgan Sexton and Faith Hauenstein.

Pentucket 17, Georgetown 6

Beverly 20, Arlington 12

Hamilton-Wenham 16, Triton 5 – The Generals saw 10 different players score and an opportunity to rotate players through different positions against the young but promising Triton team. The Vikings limited Hamilton Wenham’s scoring to mainly the first half, and had a run of 4 unanswered goals in the 4th quarter. The Generals goals were scored by Grace Glidden (3), Evie Bernard (3), Maisie Leland (2), Libby Pollard (2), Avery Nistl (1), Laura Sabo (1), Jane Boardman (1), Catherine Carroll (1), Stewart Bernard (1), and Ava Shultz (1). The Generals (9-6) play their last regular season game against Swampscott on Friday.


Boys Lacrosse 

Swampscott 9, Pentucket 7 – Jason Rothwell 2G, John Von Barta 1G 1A, Chase Russo 1G 1A,Jack Hazell 1G, Liam Keaney 1G 3A, Carson Palmer 2G, Max Field 1G, Timmy Sheehan 13 saves, Defense played outstanding, outlasting a talented offense from Pentucket.  Timmy Sheehan was a brick wall in the net.  Liam Keaney had 3 beautiful assists.  Carson Palmer continues to grind teams at the face off.  Notes from Swampscott coach Geoff Beckett

Girls Tennis

Girls Tennis: FINAL – On the road, the Hornets def. Pentucket. With the win, the Hornets conclude their regular-season with an overall record of 15-3 and as CAL Baker Champs! Girls Tennis now awaits the release of the MIAA tournament bracket on 5/25.

Hamilton-Wenham 4, Beverly 1 – The Generals (14-2) wrapped up there regular season with a 4-1 win over Beverly. Number two singles player junior Naomi Provost (see attached picture and feel free to use) set the school record for wins (male/female) with her 57th victory, 6-0, 6-0. The previous record was help by Nick Petrou from 2006-2009 and won a state championship with the Generals when he was partnered with current Generals boys coach Ian McCracken. Emma Jani won at number 1 singles 6-0, 6-1. First doubles of Izzy Church and Emily McIntosh were victorious 6-2, 6-3. Second doubles Sienna Gregory and Maddie Minich won 6-3, 6-4. Both Jani and Provost ended the regular season undefeated.

Boys Tennis

Manchester-Essex – Boys Tennis: FINAL – The Hornets def. Pentucket on Senior Night! With the win, the Hornets conclude the regular season with an overall record of 14-4 & as CAL Baker Champs! Congrats & thank you to our 4 Seniors: Brodie, Jan, Charlie, and Sander! On to the tournament!
