Cape Ann – The Cape Ann Regional Emergency Planning Committee, which includes the communities of Ipswich, Essex, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Gloucester, and Rockport, will be sponsoring a regional Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training.

The CERT Training will be held on Tuesdays, from March 11 through April 1, from 6-9 p.m. at the Essex Police/Fire Facility, 11 John Wise Ave., Essex. Training is free and is open to the public.

CERT training provides individuals with emergency response knowledge to help prepare, adapt, and assist during critical incidents. The curriculum covers a variety of topics, including disaster preparedness, first aid, light urban search and rescue, terrorism awareness, disaster medical operations, and more.

Community members interested in the training are encouraged to register by emailing CERT@ipswichpolice.org. The training is made possible through a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant.

For additional information or questions, please contact Lead Instructor Ralph Milroy at Ralphmilroy@gmail.com or CERT Program Director Ipswich Lt. John Hubbard at jhubbard@ipswichpolice.com.
