Thursday High School Sports – Girls’ Lax: H-W Gets First Win; Ipswich Keeps Rolling Along

Hamilton-Wenham 17, Georgetown 8

Generals Coach Kerry Eaton:  “Hamilton Wenham girls lacrosse got their first win this season against Georgetown today. The final score was 17-8.  It was a whole team effort, all the way from the goalie to the attackers for us to grab the win today. Our top scorer was Katie Everitt with 4 goals, followed by Mazey Loomis and Annabella Twomey who each netted 3. Tessa Landon, Eliza Twomey and Catherine Howley each had 2 goals and Annabel Howley had one goal.  Many of the 17 goals we scored were assisted by another player.  Catherine Howley won 7 draw controls, while Annabella Twomey grabbed four. Our goalie was freshman Rachel Lee who had 14 saves in net. Our defense worked as a unit with Kelsey Lyons and Ashley Gregory having great performances during the game. Greta Mastracola also stepped up to help the team out on defense. ”
