City of Lynn – Due to firefighting operations, the Pennybrook Road entrance to Lynn Woods will be closed to public access. At this time the northern part of Walden Pond remains closed to public access. Lynn Woods is still accessible along the Great Woods Road path.

City of Lynn – The MBTA’s contractor for the Commercial Street Bridge Replacement Project will perform roadway milling and paving on Commercial Street under the MBTA bridge. This work will take place on Wednesday, May 17, and Thursday, May 18 from 6AM through 6PM each day.

Hamilton -Wenham Library – Please note that the library will be closed this Thursday, May 18th, for staff training. We will reopen for our regular hours on Friday. Our electronic resources are always available via the website, Libby or Hoopla.

Girls Lacrossse – Hamilton Wenham Girls Lacrosse defeated Essex Tech 17-11 on the road in a non league matchup yesterday. The Generals scored early and despite a quick goal in response from the Hawks, remained offensively in control throughout. Evelyn Bernard (7 goals, 2 assists, 12 draw controls) led the scoring, followed by Maisie Leland (3 goals, 1 assist), Grace Glidden (3 goals), Emma Happel (2 goals, 1 assist), Dylan Whitman (1 goal), and Stewart Bernard (1 goal). Laura Sabo and Avery Nistl also each had an assist. Goalie Ava Vautour had an impressive game with 13 saves and Ava Shultz played well defensively for the Generals. Hamilton Wenham (9-7) travels to Danvers on Monday in another non league matchup.

Girls Tennis – Ipswich (6-6) won its 4th consecutive match.   Sophomore Claire Buletza won at first singles 6-3, 6-1.  Freshman Abbie Allen won at second singles 6-0, 7-6 (8-6). Junior Tess O’Flynn won at third singles 7-5, 6-1.  At 1st doubles Junior Norah Hickey and sophomore Lila Borgman won 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 and senior captain Maggie McCormick and sophomore Frannie Hertz won 6-0, 7-6 (7-5).  –

North Reading Baseball – Tremendous day of baseball in North Reading as over 120 Little Leaguers joined the Varsity team for an afternoon of baseball fun. Capped it off with some delicious pizza. The future certainly looks bright!
