Peabody Police responding late Wednesday morning to a motorcycle crash on Route 114, motorcycle being secured on flatbed truck. One person was taken to the hospital.

Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo – Salem was awarded a $3.4M Mass Works grant today to make critical improvements to the South River culvert at lower Lafayette St. This project benefits the immediate neighborhood & the nearly 2/3rds of our city that discharges stormwater through the culvert to the South River.

Mass State PoliceOur Marine Unit, and other law enforcement and port partners today conducted Maritime Active Shooter Exercise in Boston Harbor. The training scenario was a shooter on a ferry. We regularly train with partner agencies in responding to criminal/terrorist threats.

City of Salem – will host the 2023 Veterans Day ceremony on Sat 11/11/23 @ 11:00am at Salem High School (77 Willson St). The Veterans Council will be presenting City of Salem Wartime Service Medals to eligible Salem veterans. There will also be a collation at VFW Post 1524 on Derby St.

Danvers DPW – ,Our Forestry and Grounds Division had some help from the Landscaping students at the Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School! Twenty-three juniors helped plant mums, deadhead plants, weeded, and cut back grass at Town buildings. Thank you to all who helped!

Sports

The Hamilton-Wenham volleyball team earned CAL road victory in their regular season finale on Wednesday evening, defeating Triton by a score of 3-1 (25-15, 25-16, 21-25, 25-16) to raise their record to 15-5. The Generals had big days from Gaby Campbell (13 kills, 3.5 blocks), Ava Day (15 digs, 8 aces), Maddie Wilson (8 kills, 7 kills, 1 block), and Hannah Ciriello (30 assists, 2 aces, 1 dig). Freshman Grace Harres was a spark off the bench in the 3rd & 4th sets, contributing 2 kills and 1 solo block.
