Tewksbury Police Department Arrest and Charge Mattapan Man with Assault and Battery, Kidnapping

EWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Mattapan man with several offenses relating to kidnapping and assault and battery.

ISIAH MALIK JAMES, AGE 28, of MATTAPAN, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault and Battery with Dangerous Weapon (three counts)
  • Kidnapping
  • Intimidation
  • Vandalization of Property
  • Threat to Commit Crime
  • Robbery

On Wednesday, July 24, at approximately noon, Tewksbury Police received a report from a Haverhill man that another man had assaulted him at the Motel 6 in Tewksbury in the early hours of the morning.

A preliminary investigation determined that the two men were known to one another and had met at the Motel 6 the day before. It was also determined that the alleged assailant worked in North Andover.

Tewksbury Police, in collaboration with Haverhill Police and North Andover Police, identified the individual as ISIAH MALIK JAMES.

JAMES was arrested without incident.

JAMES was held without bail and arraigned before the Lowell District Court on Thursday, July 25.
