SUPER REGIONAL CHAMPS! No. 3/4 Endicott Punches Ticket To Third Straight College World Series Inbox Lucas Wlodarczyk ’23 M’25 via email-od.com

John Mulready‘s (Peabody) game-tying three-run homer in the fourth inning was his sixth of the season (23rd career).

BEVERLY – Tied at three in the seventh, sophomore first baseman Cade Bernardo (Glenmont, N.Y.) launched a grand slam into the left field rocks to lift the No. 3/4 ranked Endicott College baseball team past No. 16/21 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 8-6, in game two of the NCAA Division III Beverly Super Regional on Saturday afternoon at North Field.

With the two-game Super Regional sweep, Endicott advances to its third College World Series in as many years.

WP (3-0): Brady Stuart (Hudson, Mass.) – 4 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
LP (4-2): Matthew Bergan (Portola Valley, Calif.) – 6.2 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Despite getting out-hit by a 14-6 margin today, Endicott registered a trio of home runs, including Bernardo’s grand slam. Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) belted his 27th career round-tripper in the eighth inning for the Gulls, tying him with Nicolas Notarangelo ’24 (Taunton, Mass.) for the program record, while John Mulready‘s (Peabody) game-tying three-run homer in the fourth inning was his sixth of the season (23rd career).

Just as Endicott did yesterday as the home team, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps struck for multiple runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Stags were the designated home team in game two of the series due to NCAA Super Regional rules. With two outs in the first, Bryce Didrickson (Bellevue, Wash.) roped an RBI double to right center, plating the game’s first run before a single up the middle by Rider Gordon (Simi Valley, Calif.) gave the Stags a 2-0 lead through one.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps loaded the bases with two out in the bottom of the second following a walk and back-to-back singles – and after an injury on a comebacker to the mound to Endicott starter Evan Scully (Maynard, Mass.) – Jake Harmony (Fairfield, Conn.) got out of the jam as Didrickson grounded out to second keeping the score at 2-0 through two.

Matthew Bergan held Endicott to just one hit through the first three and a third innings, but a hit by pitch and a walk set up a three-run homer to dead center field by Mulready to put Endicott out ahead 3-2 in the top of the fourth. Prior to the round tripper, Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) was the lone Gull to get a hit off Bergan.

Alex Henderson stepped to the plate with the Stags down 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth and belted the game-tying home run to deep right field. Henderson’s homer was his 18th of the season and tenth of the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament, as he had nine in the La Crosse Regional.

The score remained even at three into the seventh inning. With two outs, Endicott loaded the bases on a single and back-to-back hit by pitches, forcing the Stags to make a pitching change. Hamilton Finefrock (Santa Barbara, Calif.) entered the game and on his first pitch of the contest, Bernardo blasted a grand slam over the fence in left, pushing Endicott out in front, 7-3. Then, with one out in the top of the eighth, the game was forced into a 59-minute rain delay. The first batter out of the delay was Wladkowski, who gave Endicott some insurance with a solo shot to left. His homer tied the career program record with Notarangelo, as both have 27 round trippers to their names.

Claremont-Mudd Scripps didn’t go down quietly, however, as the Stags got two runs back on Henderson’s second homer of the day to make it 8-5 through eight. Stuart returned to the hill for Endicott and despite loading the bases and allowing an unearned run, struck out both Blaise Heher (Lake Oswego, Ore.) and Slader Spoor (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to send the Gulls to the College World Series.
