Sunday Traffic Alert – Halloween Witch Ride Today – Motorcycle Benefit Ride For MDA – Video

North Shore – Traffic Alert – Halloween Witch Ride is TODAY!

It’s that fun time of year again – the 29th annual motorcycle ride to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association will kick off from Boston Harley Davidson on Squire Road in Revere at noon.
Last year, roughly 1,800 motorcycles with costumed riders made the journey from Revere to Shetland Properties in Salem.
The procession is expected to arrive in Marblehead somewhere around 1pm. Last year it took approximately 45 minutes for the motorcycles to pass once they entered town. During this time, traffic is stopped to allow for their safe and expeditious passage.
Their route is Rt 16, to Rt 145 to Revere Beach then to Rt 1A down the Lynnway to the Nahant rotary and along Lynn Shore Drive to Humphrey St in Swampscott. The procession will travel inbound on Humphrey St in Marblehead thru the intersection of Tedesco/Humphrey/Maple Streets and go up Maple passing the Glover School. At the end of Maple they will turn left onto Lafayette St (RTE 114W) and head into Salem.
While extra officers will be on hand at the two intersections to hold the traffic back, we ask that you NOT cut out into the procession from side streets or driveways as you could cause an accident.
You will know when it’s over as the last two vehicles in line will be an ambulance and a tow truck.
If you are planning to catch a flight at Logan or have guests coming into town, please plan accordingly.
Please share this info with family and friends.
Bring the family (and some earplugs) and cheer the riders on as they pass, all in the name of a good cause.
The rain date for the event is Sunday October 22
