The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section today added XAVIER L. DeJESUS to the Department’s Most Wanted list. DeJESUS, 20, is wanted for a homicide committed last month in Lowell.
On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Lowell Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired on Coral Street. Responding officers located a woman in an SUV suffering from a gunshot wound; the victim, 23-year-old Deija Mendez of Boston, was determined to be deceased at the scene.
Subsequent investigation by the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office and Lowell Police detectives identified DeJESUS as the alleged shooter. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant from Lowell District Court charging DeJESUS with Murder; Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm; Discharging a Firearm Within 500’ of a Building; and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
DeJESUS is actively avoiding law enforcement and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The suspect is white and of Hispanic ethnicity, 5’7” tall and about 120 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
DeJESUS has numerous tattoos on his right arm, including the word “Blessed” on his outer right forearm and “R.I.P. Chi Chi” on his inner right forearm (see included wanted poster and photos).
He has ties throughout the greater Lowell area, and is also the subject of an arrest warrant for unrelated charges out of Nashua, N.H.
