GLOUCESTER – As teams of seine boat racers sought to stave off elimination this weekend, volunteers continued to erect the altar/stage that is one of the most familiar icons of Gloucester’s St. Peter’s Fiesta. The Fiesta begins on Wednesday with the opening of a carnival in St. Peter’s Square and continues through Sunday
The Fiesta (that includes a 10-day Novena) is an annual celebration to honor the patron saint of fishermen.
