St. Mary’s Softball Captures Holland Tournament With 3-0 Win Over Swampscott – Mia Nowicki Tournament MVP – Photos & Videos

LYNN – (Videos & Photos) The St. Mary’s Softball defeated Swampscott today 3-0 behind pitcher Mia Nowicki to capture their second straight John Holland Memorial tournament. The Spartans have won the tournament seven out of the past eight years. The Spartans scored all three of their runs in the 6th inning. Victoria DeCenso led off the inning with a double to left, Emily Shephenson singled, and with runners at 2nd and 3rd base Casey Fraher took a pitch down the right field line for a 2 RBI double. The third run scored later that inning on an error. On the mound, Mia Nowicki struck out 16 batters. Swampscott pitcher Hannah Leahy pitched well for Swampscott. Sydney Cresta made the all tournament team for Swampscott, playing well at third base.
