St. John’s Prep Falls To Braintree in Super 8 Baseball Tournament 10-4 / Postgame Interviews / Prep Plays Friday

DANVERS – (Videos) Defending state champion Braintree scored 5 runs in the third inning go open up a 6-2 lead over St. John’s Prep in the first round of the MIAA Super 8 Tournament. Scott Creedon of Braintree pitched a complete game win for Braintree over the Prep, repeating an outcome from last year’s state tournament. Videos with St. John’s Prep coach Dan Letarte, Braintree coach Bill O’Connell, and winning Braintree pitcher Scott Creedon. Sean McGinnis led the Prep with 3 hits (3-4). Jacob Yish and Andrew Selima each hit a homerun and both went 2-4 at the plate. Brendan Powicki, Colin Nye, and Zach Begin all pitched for St. John’s Prep. St. John’s is schedule to continue play in the Super 8 Tournament Friday in Brockton.
