Saugus Police Arrest Man for Breaking and Entering

SAUGUS — Chief Domenic DiMella reports that the Saugus Police Department arrested a man yesterday for breaking and entering into a home while a resident was inside.

KENNETH WILLIAMS, AGE 35, OF SAUGUS, is being charged with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime, Person in Fear.

Yesterday, at approximately 3 p.m., Saugus Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering in progress at a home on Hampstead Street. The homeowner was reportedly physically detaining WILLIAMS.

Police believe WILLIAMS entered the home through a rear first floor window. He was taken into custody without incident.

“Fortunately, the resident is safe, did not sustain any injuries and nothing was stolen from the home,” Chief DiMella said. “I would like to commend the responding officers for their quick and efficient police work on this case. Thanks to them, this matter was resolved without incident.”

WILLIAMS is being held pending his arraignment at Lynn District Court.
