Saugus Police Arrest Driver in Head-on Motor Vehicle Crash

SAUGUS — Police Chief Domenic DiMella reports that the driver in Saturday morning’s serious, head-on crash, was arrested after turning himself in to Saugus police.

RONALD C. JAROSZ, AGE 19, OF SAUGUS was charged with:

• Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury

• Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

• Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Recklessness with a Vehicle, Two Counts, Both Felonies)

JAROSZ was allegedly the driver of a Ford Mustang GT that crossed the double yellow line on Hamilton Street early Saturday morning, striking a Toyota SUV head-on, seriously injuring the driver of the Toyota and two passengers in the Ford.

JAROSZ fled the scene and police were unable to locate him.

JAROSZ was arrested after police spoke with his father who agreed to bring his son into the police station to surrender on Saturday afternoon.

JAROSZ was booked at the Saugus Police Station and will be arraigned Monday morning in Lynn District Court.
