SAUGUS (Videos & Photos) The Saugus girls basketball team put together a balanced attack in a tightly played contest resulting in a 42-32 win over Lynn Classical. Both teams are now 4-2 on the season. Saugus broke out to 16-4 lead in the second quarter only to see Classical close out the first half with a 9-0 run and then score the first two points in the second half to trail 16-15. The third quarter saw a tightly played game until the Sachems opened up a 10 point lead (34-24) early in the 4th quarter. Saugus scoring was led by Taylor Bogdeanski (18 points), Jillian Ricupero (10 points), and Molly Granara (8 points). Lynn Classical scoring leaders were Ava Thurman (10 points) and Sajada Dean (7 points). Below are three post game video interviews and a photo gallery from Monday’s game.
