Salem: The Derby Street Mile is back! – Event is This Friday

The fun, family driven event will take place on Friday, August 18th.
Derby Street Mile

Join Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services for the 18th Annual Derby Street Mile Road Race.  This fun, family driven event will take place on Friday, August 18th.

The race starts on Fort Avenue near the Cat Cove Marina, and runs up Derby Street, ending at Herbert Street near the Salem Maritime Site.

Roads surrounding the race will be closed at 6:50 pm and then open again at approximately 7:30 pm.

The Competitive Race begins at 7:00pm followed by the Family Fun Run at 7:15pm.

Special thanks to The Salem Harbor Station for their full sponsorship of this race.  All proceeds will be allocated to the Park, Recreation and Community Services Department.

Trophy to the top male and female finishers in the competitive race.  Age group awards for the top 3 male/female finishers in the following divisions: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+in the competitive race.  All children under the age of 12 will receive medals.

Tee shirts to the first 100 registrants.  Tee shirts and bibs will be available to pick up at the race start.
