PEABODY (Videos – Photos) In total, 77 points were scored in tonight’s game. Salem defeated Peabody 41-36 to improve to 8-3 while Peabody falls to 10-4 on the season. The game was tied at 22-22 at the half. Late in the fourth quarter Salem was able to ride on the back of center Brayson Green as he powered Salem to the win with key baskets on the offensive end and also came up with big defensive stops at the other end of the court. Green ended the game with a game high 26 points, over half of all of the points scored by the Witches. Jack Doyle added 13 points for Salem. Peabody was led by a 15-point performance by Anthony Forte.
The low scoring game was close from the start, Salem had a 7-point lead in the second quarter (18-11), Peabody built up a 7-point lead in the third quarter (31-24). Salem would then close out the game with a 17-5 run to win the game.
