ROCKPORT — Chief John Horvath reports that a Rockport Police cruiser was involved in a train crash last night.
On Sunday, June 4 at approximately 8 p.m., a MBTA train and Rockport Police cruiser were involved in a crash at the Poole’s Lane crossing in Rockport.
The train and cruiser were both determined to be traveling at a low rate of speed at the time of the crash.
A Rockport Police Officer who was in the cruiser at the time of the crash was transported by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.
There were 10 passengers on the train and no passenger injuries were reported.
The incident is being investigated by MBTA Transit Police.
