Colonel Christopher Mason, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, issued the following statement.
With large crowds expected on Revere Beach this weekend, visitors will see an increased police presence to ensure a safe and peaceful setting for all beachgoers.
As always, the Massachusetts State Police, Revere Police, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation welcome all visitors to the beach and encourage all to abide by the law and beach regulations and respect the rights of others.
Massachusetts State Troopers and Revere Police will enforce all laws and regulations to ensure a safe visitor experience, including those concerning quality-of-life issues such as excessive noise and public drinking.
Beach visitors are reminded that alcohol, marijuana use, weapons, and amplified music are not permitted on DCR properties, including Revere Beach. Troopers and Officers will educate, and when necessary, enforce those rules. Bags brought onto the beach reservation are subject to search.
The beach closing time, one half hour after dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday), will be enforced and visitors will be required to leave by that time. That closing time may be changed if conditions so dictate.
Additionally, a parking ban will go into effect at 6 p.m. Saturday on Revere Beach Boulevard. Please plan accordingly in order to avoid being towed from designated areas. That time, also, may be changed if conditions dictate.
