WAKEFIELD (Podcast – Photos) Wakefield boys basketball coach Brad Simpson, 33 years as head coach, has been coaching in Wakefield for 50 years. For 17 years he served as an assistant coach at various levels including 9 years as lead assistant coach to Sonny Lane. Again this year Simpson’s team (15-4) has qualified for the state tournament. In a podcast interview Simpson shares a few notes on this year’s team as well as some stories from additional standout Wakefield teams and players. Wakefield will play at Swampscott Saturday night at 7 p.m. and then wrap up their season at Reading Monday night (6 p.m.) in a make-up game.
