PEABODY – Peabody High School’s Hall of Fame cross-country and track coach Fernando Braz checked in with MSO Sports Thursday afternoon and gave an update on what the fall sports season might look like as the Tanners get ready to compete in the NEC . Immediately following our conversation, Coach Braz called MSO back to inform us that Swampscott had joined Peabody, Beverly, Masconomet, and Salem in getting the okay to compete in Fall 1 sports.
Gloucester’s Superintendent of Schools, Ben Lummis, has recommended the Fishermen be allowed to particpate in the NEC this fall, as well, and the School Committee has yet to approve/disapprove.
The Danvers School Committee will consider the issue for Falcons’ student-athletes next week.
Meanwhile, Coach Braz talks with Rick Moore about getting back out for Cross Country.
