NEWBURYPORT (Podcast) The Newburyport boys basketball team beat Pentucket (55-36) on Friday night to improve to 8-0 in the Cape Ann League and they are now 9-2 overall on the season, In this podcast interview second year head coach Mark Elmendorf reviews several of the team’s key games this season including the three games they played in the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Tournament. In the tournament they lost to Division One teams Lawrence and St. John’s Prep but ended the tournament with a win over Beverly. Coach Elmendorf also shares notes and insights for listeners about his players on this year’s team. This week Newburyport has two road games at Georgetown (Tuesday) and Essex Tech (Friday), both 6:30 p.m. tipoffs. One game north shore basketball insiders and fans have circled on their calendar is when Newburyport plays at Manchester-Essex on Monday February 5th.
