IPSWICH (Podcast – Video – Links) There has been over a decade of discussions and research on a project
being considered to make a profound and immediate ecological restoration to the Ipswich River. In this podcast, Neil Shea a restoration program director for the Ipswich River Watershed Association, outlines the benefits of a plan to remove the century old Ipswich Mills Dam. The town of Ipswich will have a non-binding question on their May 21 town election ballot regarding the removal of the dam. Shea explains the project and details the research that supports the removal of the dam as the major step to improve the river’s eco system. Shea is also asked about the time he spent working on related projects in the Pacific Northwest.

Guest Background: Neil Shea is a river enthusiast, hiker, and newfound fisherman. He holds a Master of Science degree in Geosciences from the University of Connecticut, where he researched watershed evolution in the Front Range of Colorado. Neil is returning to his hometown of Ipswich to join the team after spending 6+ years in the Pacific Northwest. He brings a passion for river restoration and his unwavering support for New England sports.
