NEWBURY – Nicole Bloor, co-founder of Save Newbury Wildlife, leads “a group of Newbury residents dedicated to reducing the use of rat poisons” that lead to “the unintentional deaths” of all kinds of other animals, including pets and birds. While the immediate goal of “Save Newbury Wildlife” is local, the group hopes that the ban of “second generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs)” will become widespread throughout the Commonwealth.
In the interview below, Bloor explains what SGARs are, their effects, and what can be done to reduce the need for them; and consequently, the use of them.
