As the fall high school sports season gets underway, we are reposting Coaches’ Files from last year with north shore football coaches. In these interviews the coaches share memories from the days as players and reflect on the events and people that have shaped them as coaches. These interviews were conducted in August, many of them prior to the first day of practices (8/18).
MARBLHEAD (Podcast) This is another in-depth interview with an area football coach as they share stories from their playing days and the transition into coaching. Marblehead football coach Jim Rudloff did not grow up on the north shore, but his family did have a connection to the Marblehead / Swampscott Thanksgiving football game. Rudloff provides the details on this story and he also discusses his high school athletic background in both football and hockey. Rudloff played college football at Northeastern University, and he shares those soties with listeners. The podcast reveals his growth as a coach through his many unique experiences. Rudloff tells the story of the most impactful game that he witnessed and how it changed his approach to coaching football. Much more is included in this interview.
