Reposting: Labor Day Weekend Special – Podcast: KIPP Academy Football Coach Jim Rabbitt – Playing – Coaching – Starting a High School Program

Over the Labor Day weekend we are reprising over 25 feature interviews with north shore football coaches. In these interviews the coaches share memories from the days as players and reflect on the events and people that have shaped them as coaches. These interviews were conducted in August, many of them prior to the first day of practices (8/18). After Labor Day, msonewsports will be previewing opening high school match-ups on the opening weekend of play. (9/8)

LYNN (Podcast) KIPP Academy is working out in preparation for the school’s 7th season of varsity football. Head coach Jim Rabbitt started the program and last season (8-5) his team made it to Gillette Stadium to compete in the Division 8 MIAA Super Bowl where they lost to Hull (26-7). KIPP will open this season on Friday 9/8 vs. St. Mary’s (5 p.m.) at Manning Field, Lynn. Rabbitt shares stories from his playing days at Arlington Catholic and Framingham State to the start of his coaching career and starting the KIPP Academy football program. This is the next to last interview in our summer series featuring 25 north shore football coaches. We will be reposting these features over the Labor Day weekend.
