Ipswich Girls Tennis – Ipswich won in straight sets in 4 of its matches highlighted by Emily Hannibal’s 6-1 6-0 win at 3rd singles. Abbie Allen and Tess O’Flynn cruised at 1st and second singles while seniors Charlotte Donahue and Norah Hickey won at 1st dubs 6-1, 6-4. While the match was clenched, second doubles pair, Abbie Wallace and Lila Borgman split sets and lost in a well played super tiebreaker 11-9.
- HW Girls Tennis (15-2) has advanced in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament. The Generals will host Millis High School in the Sweet Sixteen on Monday, June 3rd at 4:00 PM at Pingree School in Hamilton.
- HW Softball (7-14) defeated Nantucket yesterday at Black Field at Pingree Park, 9-4 in the Preliminary Round of the MIAA Division IV State Tournament. It is the first time since the Softball program re-booted in 2014 that the Generals won a Post Season game. HW travel to #3 Pittsfield in the Round of 32 on Sunday, June 2nd at 1:00 PM at Pittsfield High School (300 East St, Pittsfield, MA).
. - HW Baseball (13-7) has earned the #15 seed in the upcoming MIAA Division IV State Tournament. The Generals will host Dennis Yarmouth in the Round of 32 on Friday, May 31st at 4:30 at Patton Park in Hamilton.
- Congratulations to HW Girls Track & Field for their 2nd Place finish at the MIAA Division VI Championships last week. Junior Georgia Wilson came in 1st Place in the Triple Jump and Freshman Grace Rich took 1st Place in the Mile. Both athletes have qualified for the MIAA Meet of Champions to take place on Thursday, May 30th and Saturday June 1st and will compete in these events. Wilson will also compete in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash. Results will be posted after Day Two on Saturday.
- HW Girls Lacrosse (10-6) has earned the #9 seed in the upcoming MIAA Division IV State Tournament. The Generals will host South Hadley High School in the Round of 32 on Sunday, June 2nd at 5:15 PM at Gloucester’s New Balance Stadium.
- HW Boys Tennis (15-2, CAL Champs) defeated Stoneham earlier in the week at Pingree School, 5-0 in the Round of 32 of the MIAA Division IV State Tournament. The Generals advance to the Sweet Sixteen and will host Monomoy Regional High School on Monday, June 3rd at 4:00 at Pingree School in Hamilton.
