MAJOR AWARD WINNERS
JORDAN GOTTESMAN | SR. | P | Acton
Pitcher of the Year | All-CCC First Team
Gottesman is the eighth student-athlete in program history to receive Pitcher of the Year honors, and the second consecutive winner for the Gulls, as Gabe Van Eamon ’23 (Lexington, Mass.) took home the honors last season.
The senior left-hander tossed a total of 67.2 IP with a 2.79 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP, a 10-0 record, and 91 strikeouts (12.10 K/9) in his 11 starts, all career-bests.
His 91 strikeouts led the CCC by a significant margin (24) and place him 16th nationally. They also rank second all-time in program single-season history.
The southpaw’s 10 wins also led the conference and rank third in the nation, and are tied with Van Eamon for the most in program single-season history.
He set the pace for the Blue and Green all season, racking up 11 strikeouts in six innings pitched in the Gulls’ 5-1 season-opening win at UMass Boston.
The Acton-native continued that dominance throughout the spring, earning a win in all but one start on the year (no-decision on May 9 vs. WNE).
He established a new career-high in strikeouts with 12 on April 27 at Hartford, as he tossed a seven-inning complete game effort in the Gulls’ mercy-rule win.
Altogether, he was a major part of the CCC Champions’ success over their historic season.
CHARLIE HALE | FR. | P | Brookline, N.H.
Rookie of the Year
Hale becomes the sixth Gulls to receive Rookie of the Year honors, and the first since Cam Farnham ’17 (Andover, Mass.) in 2014 to don the honors.
The Brookline, N.H. native proved himself as a valuable arm very early on in the spring, making 11 appearances (eight starts) with a 7-0 record.
Over the course of the season, he racked up 51 strikeouts in 46 IP (9.98 K/9), featured an ERA of 1.96 (second in CCC, 23rd in NCAA) and a WHIP of 1.22.
In his collegiate debut against Salem State on March 3, the freshman tossed 4.1 innings of relief and earned the win with four strikeouts and no runs allowed.
From then on, he ingrained himself as an important piece of the Gulls’ pitching staff, and a reliable arm for Coach Haley throughout the season.
On April 9 against Tufts, the right-hander tossed 7.1 innings and struck out 10 Jumbos, limiting them to just six hits and one earned run in the outing.
He also earned Rookie of the Week honors for his efforts the week prior, when he threw 5 innings and only allowed one run in a win at Gordon on April 2.
WILL FOX | SR. | P | West Hartford, Conn.
Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Fox is the fourth Endicott student-athlete to earn Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, and the third consecutive Gull to win the honor. Thomas Barbieri ’23 (Cranston, R.I.) and Max Tarlin ’22 M’23 (Sharon, Mass.) each earned the award the previous two seasons for the Gulls.
Fox featured an impressive season out of the bullpen for the Gulls, tossing 18.2 IP with a 2.89 ERA, 19 strikeouts (9.16 K/9), a WHIP of 1.18, and locking up three saves.
However, his numbers in the classroom were just as, if not more impressive than his shutdown numbers out of the bullpen.
The senior right-hander and Business Management major (Business Analytics minor) currently sports a 3.97 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and has a multitude of impressive feats on his resume.
He is a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor’s Society, which is comprised of the top 20% of business majors at Endicott.
He has also been named to the CCC Academic All-Conference list twice in his esteemed career (2022, 2023).
Additionally, he was named as an NCAA Elite 90 Award Nominee in May 2023. The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 90 championships. Last season, Endicott took part in the NCAA Division III College World Series, and Fox was selected as the College’s Elite 90 nominee.
This past fall, he completed his semester-long senior year internship with The Registry for College and University Presidents in Peabody, Mass. During his time with the organization, he managed the daily influx of inquiries and oversaw the membership response system, ensured the accuracy and integrity of information collected while facilitating seamless communication with members, and conducted thorough background checks on potential members and job candidates just to name a few of his tasks.
BRYAN HALEY | 18th Season
Coach of the Year
Head Coach Bryan Haley has earned his sixth career CCC Coach of the Year honors, and third consecutive.
This season, he coached the Gulls to a 41-2 record (13-1 CCC, 23-0 at home) and secured the program’s ninth CCC Championship (third consecutive).
The team’s dominance earned them the No. 1 national ranking in both the D3baseball.com and the ABCA polls, the highest ranking in Endicott varsity sports program history.
Haley guided the Gulls to ranked wins over No. 9 Johns Hopkins (March 18; 14-8), No. 15 Eastern Connecticut State (April 20; 9-5 and 4-0), and several teams that were receiving votes in the national polls throughout the season (Nichols, Roger Williams, Webster, Colby, Tufts, UMass Dartmouth, and UMass Boston).
The 41-win total through 43 games (.953 win percentage) is the highest mark through the conference playoffs in program history. Additionally, the Gulls secured their first perfect season at home in program history.
Under Haley’s guidance, the Gulls are heading to their third consecutive NCAA Regional Tournament, and will be looking to advance to their third consecutive Super Regional round. They have national championship aspirations after falling just short last season, having reached the Division III College World Series for the first time in program history in 2023.
Altogether, Haley has brought the team to their highest pinnacle of success, and he’s not done yet.
Team Sportsmanship Award
The Gulls have been given Team Sportsmanship Award honors for just the third time in program history.
The Team Sportsmanship Award is given to the team each season that is recognized as the most respectful and held in the highest regards throughout the conference. It is based on encounters with opponents, the officials, and the sport in general through hard work, appreciation for others’ efforts, and integrity while competing.
This is the first time the Gulls have been the recipient of the award since the 2018 season. They are led by Head Coach Bryan Haley, Assistant Coach Alex Loparco, Assistant Coach Frank DeFelice, Assistant Coach Steve Busby, Assistant Coach Patrick Tevenan, and captain John Mulready (Peabody) in acceptance of the highly esteemed award.
