LYNN — The North Shore Navigators are proud to host the first-ever “Battle of the Badges” charity softball game featuring the City of Lynn’s Police and Fire Departments on Sunday, June 30.

First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m. and will begin a doubleheader of action at Fraser. Following the Battle of the Badges, the Navs will host the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game at 5:05 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will benefit to-be-determined local charities.

“This is a great event for Lynn Police and Lynn Fire to renew their friendly rivalry,” Navigators General Manager Derek January said. “Historic Fraser Field is a great venue for everyone to watch and enjoy a sun and fun-filled game. Any time the Police and Fire Departments come together in the name of charity, you know it’s going to be a fun and successful day.”

The event is being dubbed as Round II after the two departments played a successful charity hockey game in March, which Lynn Fire won 8-1.
