PEABODY (Photos) Moynihan Lumber honored the north shore’s top two student athletes of the year. Jake Vana (St. John’s Prep) and Abby Bettencourt (Peabody High School) on Wednesday. The Moynihan family was represented by Jack Moynihan and the master of ceremony was by Paul Halloran of Grant Communications. The awards were given at the annual luncheo held at the Salem Country Club. Vana won a state title in Ice hockey this school year and his Prep lacrosse team is shooting a state title as well. Bettencourt is a three-sport standout, playing volleyball, basketball, and softball for the Tanners. Unfortunately, due to health issues, the founder of this 32 year event, Gerard Moynihan, was unable to attend. We apologize as our audio recording of the event failed.
