GLOUCESTER – Former Cape Ann Savings Bank President Bob Gillis is a well-known business leader and all-around volunteer on Cape Ann. In addition to his many community roles, Bob has served as one of the Tri-chairs (along with Ruth Pino and former Gloucester Mayor Bruce Tobey) of the Gloucester 400+ Committee for the past 5 years. In the interview below, Bob relates the beginnings, formation, and mission of the committee, established to commemorate Gloucester’s past, present, and future.
He also reflects on the many activities Gloucester 400+ has brought to fruition over the past year, looks ahead to what’s next, and gives insight into his role in trying to alleviate the current housing crisis.
