Newburyport Police Investigating After Pedestrian Struck on High Street

NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray reports that the Newburyport Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck on High Street Tuesday morning.

At approximately 9:11 a.m., Newburyport Police responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck. Upon arrival, first responders located a 70-year-old female. She was taken to an area hospital and subsequently taken by MedFlight to a Boston hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, and the incident is currently under investigation.
