NORTH SHORE – According to Carrie Kimball-Monahan of the Essex District Attoney’s Office, investigators were able to make a positive identification of the victim at the scene. The victim is identified as Clark Young, 76, 7 Highland Terrace, Beverly.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshall and the Beverly Fire Department.

Gloucester Police Charge Woman with Making Bomb Threat Against USS Fort McHenry Last Year

GLOUCESTER — Chief Leonard Campanello reports that the Gloucester Police Department has charged a woman for making a false bomb threat when the USS Fort McHenry was visiting the Gloucester Harbor. A 55-YEAR-OLD WOMAN, OF GLOUCESTER will be summonsed to Gloucester District Court for the charges of Issuing a False Bomb Threat and Willful Communication of False Information to Public Safety. On September 6, 2015, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Boston Command Center intercepted a marine radio transmission where a woman stated she was going to blow up the USS Fort McHenry, which was anchored in Gloucester on a visit to the community, because she felt that it was polluting the harbor. The Fort McHenry, the Coast Guard in Gloucester, along with the Coast Guard Criminal Investigative Service and Naval Criminal Investigative Service were immediately notified. The Coast Guard was able to triangulate that the transmission originated on the north channel of the State Fish Pier at the end of Parker Street. With assistance from the Gloucester Police Department, the Coast Guard identified the woman in the recording. Following the Coast Guard’s investigation, the case was closed on the federal level and referred to the Gloucester Police Department, who following its own investigation, issued charges against the woman.
