Update from Essex County District Attorney’s Office

The Essex State Police Detective Unit and Lynn Police arrested the following suspects in connection with last Sunday’s fatal assault on Blake Street in Lynn:

Werner Garcia Figueroa DOB: 6/27/97 of 15 Bassett Street Lynn, MA

Selvin F. Garcia DOB: 7/3/93 of 15 Bassett Street Lynn, MA

They will be arraigned in Lynn District Court for Murder, Armed Robbery and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.


Good News Message From Lynn Classical Athletic Director Bill Devin

Congratulations to Head Coach Mike Zukowski and the boys varsity baseball team for clinching the NORTHEASTERN CONFERENCE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP last night at historic Fraser Field in Lynn by beating the Lynn English Bulldogs 6-3…the last time the Rams won an NEC title in baseball was 14 years ago (2003)…Coach Zukowski and the undefeated (15-0) Rams will play perennial D2 power Reading tomorrow (in Reading 4pm)…Coach Erica Richard’s girls softball team defeated Lynn English yesterday 13-1 and remain in the hunt for a NEC CHAMPIONSHIP as well…Coach Richard has guided her team to an 11-2 record…the Lady Rams have a huge home game Saturday against Marblehead (Breed 5pm)…Coach Chris Hayward’s boys tennis team is also having an incredible year and could end up being crowned NEC Champs…the tourney bound Rams stand at 9-2 with remaining matches against Revere, Salem, and Everett…and how about first year girl’s tennis coach Chris Leblanc leading a very young team to a 7-4 record in the NEC…the girl’s tennis team also has a very strong chance of going to the MIAA State Tournament!!!  The boys track team, led by Classical alum first year coach Angel Melendez, has posted an impressive 4-2 record in the NEC with one remaining meet vs Salem next week…Congratulations to all of our coaches and players on an outstanding spring season!!!
