Tuesday Update from District Attorney’s Office – Lynn Police Shooting on Monday

The man shot by Lynn Police officers yesterday is identified as Robert DAPKUS, (DOB: 06/14/1959), 300 Lynn Shore Drive, Apt. 511, Lynn, MA.

As stated yesterday, Mr. Dapkus was a suspect in an armed robbery at the Porthole Pub on September 26, 2016.  Lynn Police were attempting to execute a search warrant at Mr. Dapkus’ apartment in furtherance of their investigation when the shooting occurred.

The Essex District Attorney’s Office, along with the State Police detectives assigned to the office, are investigating this shooting.  We expect to release the officers’ names after investigators complete their interviews later this week.


Tuesday Update from District Attorney’s Office – Lawrence Shooting Today

The Essex District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the DA’s Office are investigating a fatal shooting at 130 Boxford Street in Lawrence.

At approximately 3:00 pm, Lawrence PD responded to that address on a report of a person shot.  A Hispanic male, suffering from a gunshot wound was transported to Lawrence General Hospital and pronounced dead.

The matter remains under investigation.

Swampscott Police Advisory – Sunday October 9, 2016 – Expect traffic delays effecting Humphrey St. and Puritan Rd.

The annual motorcycle Halloween Witch Ride to benefit the MDA will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016. It is anticipated that the motorcycles will arrive in Swampscott between 12:45 and 1:15. Due to the volume of riders, the procession usually lasts for approximately one hour. The motorcycles will enter Swampscott on Humphrey St., turn onto Puritan Rd., back to Humphrey St. and on to the Marblehead line.
