UPDATE: The name of the victim in yesterday’s fatal crash on Route 125 in Andover has been identified as Elizabeth Roszkowski, 58, of North Reading. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. (9:45 a.m. Sunday Police Update)
ANDOVER – Saturday afternoon at about 2:15 p.m., State Police responded to reports of a crash on Route 125 north by Wildwood Road in Andover. Responding troopers found a 2007 Toyota Camry had been struck by a fallen tree and the two occupants were trapped inside. The operator, a 58-year-old male from North Reading was transported to Lawrence General Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. The passenger, a 58-year-old female from North Reading was transported to Lawrence General Hospital where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The crash remains under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from troopers from the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Detective Unit for Essex County.
Route 125 was shut down for approximately two hours.
No further information is being released at this time.
