GLOUCESTER – State Senator Bruce Tarr hosted a meeting Tuesday afternoon at the West Gloucester train station between MBTA officals and West Gloucester residents. Due to construction along the Gloucester-Rockport line, trains have been idling in West Gloucester neighborhoods, creating noise and vibration problems for residents.
While nothing was resolved, T officials agreed they would look into a disconnect between what their plan is to placate residents and what is actually being carried out by the train engineers. They, assured Senator Tarr and the several dozen residents in attendance that they would continue to work toward a resolution of the noise problem caused by trains idling for long periods of time.
