DANVERS – This morning, at approximately 1:15 am, State Police form the Danvers Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 95 Northbound prior to exit 49 in Danvers that resulted in one fatality.
Preliminary Investigation indicates that a 2016 Nissan Rogue was traveling on Route 95 Northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the car traveled off the right travel lane, striking the guardrail and causing the vehicle to roll over.
The driver, who was identified as JONATHAN RISTAU, 39, of Hampton, NH, was determined to be deceased at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The remaining facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by troopers assigned to the State Police Danvers Barracks, Troop A Headquarters, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS), Danvers Police Department, Danvers Fire and EMS, and MassDOT, all assisted on scene.
