Navigators Cruise Past Nashua – Host Pittsfield Tonight at 7 – Fireworks Friday!

NASHUA, N.H. — The North Shore Navigators scored double-digit runs for the second straight night in a 13-7 win over the Nashua Silver Knights Thursday night at Historic Holman Stadium.
Alex Brickman (St. Petersburg) led the way with a 3-for-5 showing and three RBI, while four others posted two-hit games as the Navs improved to 14-18 on the season. The Navs tagged Nashua starter Kyle Murphy (Northeastern) for four runs on six hits over the second and third innings. Brickman had a hand in each of the first two run-scoring frames, first posting a leadoff single before coming around on left fielder Jeff Mejia’s (UMass Lowell) RBI single in the second.

Brickman was the third straight Nav to reach base in the third, as he hit a hard, two-run double off the base of the left field wall, scoring second baseman Daane Berezo (VCU) and first baseman Tyler Kapuscinski (Marist) after back-to-back singles. Nate Rossi (Keene State) added a two-out single to score Brickman later in the inning to give the Navs a 4-0 lead.

North Shore scored three more times in the sixth inning. Brad Douglas (Rhode Island College) beat out a double play ball for a fielder’s choice, while Kapuscinski laced a two-out single to center.
Navs starter Conor Bawiec (Elmira) earned his first win of the summer, allowing just six hits and one run.
The Navs batted around and scored six times in the eighth inning. Brickman added another RBI on a sacrifice fly, while Berezo and Chris Cabrera (Broward) each drove in runs with singles. Nashua pitching also hit two batters and walked another with the bases loaded in the inning.
Austin Batchelor (Boston College) threw the final three innings of the ballgame and struck out three to earn a save for North Shore, despite allowing three runs on five hits and six walks.
The Navs return home Friday night to host the Seacoast Mavericks. Evan Glew (Northern Essex C.C.) will take the ball for North Shore on Fireworks Friday and Suicide Prevention Awareness Night.
