The Generals avenged an opening season loss, by defeating Lynnfield 3-2 today at Pingree Park.

#1 Singles Billy Whelan won a decisive 6-4, 6-4 victory to secure the win for the Generals (3-4)

The Generals swept the doubles with #1 doubles Ben Danforth/Thor Messer winning 6-2, 6-1 and Will Curtis/Nick Ong taking #2 doubles 6-2, 6-2

Jack Greenwald played a fantastic match at #2 singles before losing in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to Arlex Correa

Generals play at North Reading tomorrow.

Hamilton Wenham girls lacrosse lost today at Danvers. The final score was 10-8. It was a hard fought game and I am proud of the way the girls played. It was our best game so far, we just couldn’t quite hold on at the end. Our defense played really well together. Kelsey Lyons and Maia Sprouse had great games on defense. In transition, Catherine Howley continually got open for her teammates and made a huge difference in the middle of the field. Our attack worked as a unit and many people were able to get open for drives to the net. Mazey Loomis had 3 goals, Sophie Frain and Tessa Landon each had two goals, and Catherine Howley had one goal. Sophie Frain was able to gather 6 draw controls.
