LOWELL (Photos – Videos) (Tsongas Center) – St. Mary’s trailed the entire game and for three quarters it was not all that close. #1 Archbishop Williams built a 22-point lead (47-25) midway through the third quarter
over #2 St. Mary’s. The Spartans came to life in the fourth quarter by going on several runs to close to within 4 points (76-71) very late in the game. In the end, Archbishop Williams (24-1) defeated St. Mary’s (19-8) 76-71 for the MIAA Division 3 boys basketball title. St. Mary’s went on an 11-2 run in the fourth quarter to get back into the game (67-62) after being down by double digits.
The Archies were led by a 34-point effort from Josh Campbell (Video below) Lorenzo Jackson added 16 points. St. Mary’s was led by David Brown’s 22 points while Anthony D’Itria and Javihan Martinez each had 12-points.
